MAKING A HOUSE A HOME

Recently, I moved into a new house and decided I wanted to keep it really minimalist. I move in my furniture, chose my wallpaper and paint, and that’s when I realised that it’s the little touches that really help to make a house a home. Pretty wallpaper can only do so much to show off your personality, and for me, your house should be a reflection of you – so whenKelly Connor Designs, Eat Sleep Doodle, Red Candy and Jo Clark Designs offered to send me some bits to help make my house feel a lot more homely, I was really excited.

I received a mug off Kelly Connor Designs and I think it’s fabulous. I’m a sucker for funny mugs and can’t resist collecting them when I see ones that really make me chuckle. This one is right up my street – who cares if you leave the washing up for a few days when you have a body positive mug featured in the mountain of dishes. The mug is £12, which is more than I’d like to spend on a mug, but I love it so much that I’d probably make an exception.

Eat Sleep Doodle sent me this wonderful pillowcase that you can draw on. I was super excited by the idea of this because I love things that you can completely personalise and make unique. The pillowcase is fab in that you can draw on it and wash it out again and again so you can change up the design to suit your mood. The pillowcase alone costs £15, but since you can draw on it again and again, it’s a lot of fun and probably worth the price tag. I love anything that lets me procrastinate doing the washing and this pillowcase totally does that. The only flaw I found was if you get sweaty in the night, the ink will run, and while it doesn’t mark your skin or any other bedding, it can ruin your artwork – but since the ink washes out, what else can you expect.
I love foxes so when Red Candy offered to send me one of their lamps, I obviously picked the fox. I opted for the orange fox as I love soft, warm lighting, but you can also get it in grey too. It’s such a cute lamp whether it’s on or off and it’s got loads of compliments off my friends too. It costs £28, but it’s so cute and there’s a few different animals and dinosaurs to choose from so there’s something for everyone.

It's pretty obvious now I have an obsession with my cats, so when I saw Jo Clark Designs cat prints, I was in love. Of course I opted for the black and white cat print, since thats what my kittens are, and I honestly think it's one of the cutest things I've ever seen. I absolutely cannot wait to get a frame for this print and put it up on my wall, especially since my walls are so bare right now. The prints are £12 each and Jo Clark does loads of different cats, along with other animals, that you're sure to find one that looks just like your own pet - they're just so cute and you can get them as gift cards too.
