WHY I LOVE BEING AN ADULT

Originally, I planned on this post being about all the things that made being an adult great – until I realised that there wasn’t many at all. I asked around on Twitter, asked my family and friends and no one seemed to be able to come up with any positives at all really, except one.

When I asked people why they loved being an adult, I got a unanimous answer – that you can eat whatever you want, whenever you want. You can have pizza and donuts for breakfast or you can have chocolate cake for tea and there’s no one to tell you that it’s a really bad life choice (for the record, I don’t think it is).

I’m 22, and technically I’ve been an adult for a while now, but I don’t feel like one. I’m still at university and I don’t have a job and despite being a complete pessimist, there’s still a part of me (a part that’s shrinking everyday) that wants to believe that being an adult is everything I dreamed it would be when I was a little kid desperate to grow up – but I’m getting less convinced with every year that’s passing.

If you’re a more adult-ier adult than me, if you have more experience of the adult world and can give me reasons as to why being an adult is fab and wonderful then please tell me. I mean, I love being able to have pizza for breakfast but surely that can’t be the only perk of growing up?!
