Recently, I spent 6 hours in the hairdressers during which my hair was bleached three times in order to become a mermaid. It worked and it was worth it - my hair is now a greeny blue mix and I'm completely in love with it, but it also completely destroyed my hair.

Since then, I've been trying everything I can find to improve the quality of my hair, which has since become really dry, brittle and dull. I've tried hair masks and coconut oil all with little effect so when my Mum bought me a bottle of Superdrug hair therapy oil with macadamia for damaged hair, I was sceptical to say the least but decided I had nothing to lose.

There are two different ways you can use the oil, on dry hair as a styling product or on damp hair before drying and I chose the latter. I washed my hair as usual, using my normal shampoo and conditioner then towel dried it before using the oil. This took a little bit of guesswork as the bottle didn't specify how much oil to use - just that you only need to use a little of the product. Since I have short but very thick hair I opted for 3 pumps, applied to the damaged ends of my hair and hoped for the best.

After drying my hair (my least favourite task in the world. Ever.) I was pleasantly surprised to find that my hair actually did feel a lot softer and shinier too - I even got comments on how healthy my hair looked. The oil smells good, is cruelty free and for £2.66 is an absolute bargain - definitely worth a try if you're looking to restore your hair to it's former glory.
